Neurodiverse Social Dreaming Workshop

I invite you to partake in a therapeutic method that sits at the intersection of art, poetry, sociology, and psychotherapy. It is not about you, me, or the other participants, but exclusively about the moment that we will create together. We will claim a commons, just as important as water and air, a commons that cannot be compromised and assimilated by politics, fragmentation and individualisation: The Social Subconscious.

Presence is Participation

If you think and communicate differently to what we are taught in neurotypical society, then this is for you:

In Social Dreaming practice you are invited to share your actual night-time dreams, or simply listen to those of others. You are invited to share your associations upon hearing fragments of someone’s dream, or to simply sit in silence and feel the impact.

Just showing up, sitting down, and listening, is already enough to be part of practice.

Safely Unmasking

A special form of parallel play, unmasked communication, and serotonin generation.

It is not about getting to know each other as a group, but rather about leaving ourselves out of focus and shifting perspective onto our common social subconscious that we will allow to surface together.

It is not about the dreamers but about the dreams, not about analysing and interpreting but about allowing things to be the way they are, allowing ourselves to be the way we are.

Every 1st Sunday of the month

10am-12pm

Sliding scale price 45-65 EUR, cash on site.

No need to prepare anything or remember any dreams and no diagnosis needed.

All neurodiverse brains welcome, e.g. ADHD Autism Spectrum, Sensory Processing Difficulties, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, Dyscalculia, Highly Sensitive Persons,  etc.

A warm welcome to our allies as well.

Q&A - Questions and Answers

Feel free to message contact@wishingwellberlin.com if you have any more questions or concerns!

No worries at all! Nobody will ask you to share, most people have their eyes shut during the main part anyway. And to be honest, I feel the same, I myself get incredibly nervous before speaking about anything in group settings. That is precisely why I fell in love with this group method called Social Dreaming. It can be a powerful experience to just sit and listen and notice your own thoughts and sensations arising without sharing them. At the same time Social Dreaming provides a wonderful opportunity for us to safely journey out of our comfort zone and connect with others (hello serotonin and oxytocin!) by sharing a dream or association without being met with a response of judgement or analysis.

There’s honestly nothing you need to prepare. The idea is for a social subconscious to arise spontaneously and based purely on association. And you really can’t do anything wrong, as your host I am there to provide an introduction, some gentle cues and I will help us to stay on track, should we drift off.

In the introductory part I also provide some help on how to formulate and express our thoughts.

The number varies but I aim to have between 10 and 20 participants.

The method of social dreaming is in and of itself a very gentle and quiet one, which is why it is so important for me to share it with my fellow neurodivergent people. Should you get overwhelmed there is a separate room that you can use to retreat to for as long as you need and then return to the group when ready.

That’s totally fine and an understandable concern! The idea of the Social Dreaming method is precisely that we do not interpret or analyse and we absolutely do not judge the dreams that are shared. It can be a little uncomfortable to share a dream at first, especially if the content could be perceived as embarrassing in the waking world or even by neurotypical people. The idea is that together we create an atmosphere of non-judgement and safety.
